Launched in 2005, Salesforce.com introduced what is known as their AppExchange. The AppExchange is a marketplace for cloud computing applications built for the Salesforce community and delivered by partners or by third-party developers, which users can purchase and add to their Salesforce.com environment. According to Wikipedia, as of October 2010, there are over 900 applications available from over 450 independent software vendors. All Salesforce partners can easily distribute applications and solutions on the AppExchange. Applications created on the Force.com platform are easily installed by Salesforce customers.
The AppExchange allows Salesforce customers to search through all of the various applications to learn more about each one and potentially purchase a license to use it. With such a large and growing number of applications available in the AppExchange, however, application developers and service providers must get aggressive and seek out new ways to market their AppExchange apps.
Since AppExchange customers must be, by default, Salesforce.com customers, we think it makes good sense for app providers to start a lead generation campaign by marketing to Salesforce.com customers. Enter Dataclip.
Through crawling and indexing millions of websites, Dataclip keeps an inventory of all of the sites that are found to be using Salesforce in some capacity. So, we can use this data and provide a sales-ready list to you of companies running Salesforce.com. Pretty good stuff to pour down the funnel. Because Salesforce.com is so prevalent, you may want us to narrow this list down to companies with over 1,000 employees in the northeast that use Salesforce.com. No problem, we can handle customizing a Salesforce customer list to your specs.
If you are an AppExchange application developer or service provider, we would be glad to talk with you about designing a list to meet your needs. Free sample lists are available.
